We take a look at some of the trending colours for weddings in 2022. This year we have chosen five trends that couples are increasingly looking for. We have classic earthy tones ranging from browns to greens, black and white weddings, purple, golds and yellows, and last but not least, dusty pinks.
We have put together some sample photos of weddings using these themes as well as some of our wedding stationery and wedding invitations that feature these colours. Let’s explore these 2022 wedding colour trends in more detail!
Earthy Tones
Earthy wedding tones are almost always on-trend and cover anything you can see dominant in nature. Think earthy browns as well as luscious greens. These are particularly suitable for rustic style weddings, although they suit all styles of weddings. Wedding flowers naturally incorporate earthy tones with any arrangements you choose because of all the greens. However, some flowers work better in this type of wedding colour scheme. Think Ilex, Banksia, Tulips, Chrysanthemum, Ranunculus and Roses.

Classic Black and White
While traditional ‘white weddings’ had fallen out of favour over the past decade or so, they are now coming back big time! This doesn’t mean your wedding will be simple or look boring, quite the opposite. Black and white tones allow you to create that classic wedding feels but with modern touches. There is nothing like lots of gorgeous bouquets of white flowers highlighted by black throughout your wedding ceremony and reception.

Gorgeous Purple
Purple is always a bold choice, and no more so than with a wedding. So if you have a bold personality purple may suit you and your partner. This can be done by allowing purple to dominate your wedding or simply as a more subtle accent colour to be used in bouquets and bridesmaid’s dresses. When it comes to purple flowers for your wedding think purple orchids, carnations, tulips and of course, lavender.

Golds and Yellows
Who doesn’t want a sunny and happy wedding bathed in golds and yellows? Yellows and golds are not only bright and bubbly, but they are also positive and energetic too. They work great for outdoor wedding settings (both reception and ceremony). Think sunshine yellow or pale yellow bridesmaids’ dresses and flowers like orchids, protea, tulips and ranunculus.

Dusty Pink
Dusty pink works very well with contrasting tones, and will give your wedding a classic and classy look and feel. Dusty pink is a common colour for flowers also, so you will have a large range of choices including classics like roses for your wedding.
